At the 2025 DGN congress in Berlin, the group gave two talks on 15 November 2025, both presented by Prof. Ilko Maier:
“Towards highly individualised stroke therapy – the digital stroke twin” in the “Hot Topics & Science in Progress” format (Maier I, Leyhe JR, Reinecke-Lüthge CM, Jamous A, Kheirandish S, Alimi A, Avakian A)
“Three-dimensional simulation of cerebral perfusion in patients with large artery atherosclerosis – the digital stroke twin as novel diagnostic approach for individualized treatment” in the session “Stroke medicine 2.0” (first author Dr. Johanna Leyhe)
Both describe the validation of patient-specific blood flow simulations against ultrasound. According to the abstracts, simulated and measured velocities agreed well; in patients with stenoses, simulated values were somewhat higher than ultrasound values.
