At the 2nd German Stroke Congress (10–12 September 2026, Berlin), the German Stroke Society (DSG) awarded three poster prizes, selected, according to the DSG, from almost 100 scientific contributions. The third prize, endowed with 500 euros, went to Dr. Moritz Kirschner from our group.
The prize-winning contribution is titled “Three-dimensional simulation of cerebral perfusion in patients with haemodynamically relevant stenoses of brain-supplying arteries – a new approach to individualised stroke therapy” (translated from the German original). Dr. Kirschner presented the work at the congress as a talk and as an e-poster.
The project examines whether cerebral perfusion in patients with narrowed brain-supplying arteries can be represented with patient-specific computer simulations. An English version of the study was published as an abstract for the European Stroke Organisation Conference (ESOC) 2026 in the European Stroke Journal (doi:10.1093/esj/aakag023.697).
Congratulations, Moritz!
